A few days ago, Team Hovatek dropped the ROMDump (SP flash tool format) for the Infinix Hot 2 Android 6 Marshmallow (January 1, 2016) X510-D5110-M-Androidone-20160107 build. The February 1, 2016 build is now available (to upgrade OTA, navigate to Settings > About > System updates) and we have also created a ROMDump for it.
Note: This is not an official firmware from Infinix. Team Hovatek dumped the firmware of our copy of the Infinix Hot 2 X510 which had been successfully upgraded to Marshmallow (Android 6.0) OTA.
How to upgrade Infinix Hot 2 to the Android 6 Marshmallow (1, February 2016) X510-D5110-M-Androidone-20160115 build using SP flash tool
- Download the ROMDump for X510-D5110-M-Androidone-20160115 by Team Hovatek at https://hovatek.com/redirect.php?link=https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B1ukKq9qHhpBZXN2SFhBMWMyY2c&export=download
- Install VCOM drivers on your PC using the guide at http://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html
- Flash the ROMDump to the Infinix Hot 2 X510 using SP flash tool at http://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-159.html (Do not interrupt flashing)
- Boot up the phone once flashing is complete
- If the phone gets stuck at boot animation, take out the battery and slot back in then leave the phone to boot up normally
Will I be able to install future OTA updates after flashing this ROMDump?
Yes, you will without a problem. The ROMDump is not rooted and runs on stock recovery
Hovatek….just a button away!
After I downloaded the and upgrade to marshmallow, my device is saying I should sign in my account with Google but after I sign in it saying my account doest not recognized pls I need help Asap

Sorry to bother you again. How do I manually create the scatter file? Using CWM means I have to be rooted. I didn’t intend dumping rooted ROM. Thanks for your help.
We’ve not yet dropped a guide on manual scatter file creation.
I didn’t ask you to use the cwm recovery image. I asked you to use the scatter file in the zip
The recovery+scatter zip are @ https://www.hovatek.com/blog/how-to-root-infinix-hot-2-x510-lte-version/
Good morning sir,
I recently installed the March OTA security update on my infinix hot 2 (x510) and virtually all observed bugs seemed to have disappeared. Now, I have been trying to get MTK Droid tools to recognize my phone so I can ROM Dump but without success. Other phones have been recognised including my HTC One X. Is there any fix to this? Pardon me if I posted on th e wrong forum.
This is mostly due to an adb clash (https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-10111.html)
Even if you resolve that, MTK droidtools v2.5.3 doesn’t support your phone’s chipset for a backup
Is there any alternative or MTK Droid tools version that work with the X510? I have tried v2.50, v2.51, v2.52. Can I ask you how you created your February ROMDump?
Backup using https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-526.html
Thanks for your prompt response. I’m well aware of the guide above. The problem is that it requires the use of MTK Droid tools to create scatter file as first step. If I can’t create scatter file it will be pointless trying to read back with SP flash tool. Any alternative method to creating scatter file? I’m just wondering how you created your own X510 Dump. Sorry for bothering you though.
You’ll normally manually create a scatter file but you could use the scatter file from the CWM recovery we ported for the X510
I just received a 14mb update on this Rom. I want to update my rom but I am rooted how can I update my Rom
