Itel -in August- introduced the Itel P41 which is yet another Nougat phone from Itel with similar specs to the Itel P51 except the P41 has 4G LTE support which the P51 doesn’t. To be frank, its one Itel phone I would consider adding to my ever growing collection of gadgets because of its specs and the relatively low cost of Itel phones.
Itel P41 Key Specs
- Android 7.0 Nougat
- 5000 mAh Li-Polymer Non removable battery (OTG reverse charging support)
- 5.0 MP (Samsung 3H7) Rear Camera
- 2.0 MP (GC2365) Front camera
- 1 GB RAM
- 8 GB ROM
- Quad core, 1.3GHz
- 4G LTE (VOLTE) support
My opinion of the Itel P41
Battery
The Itel P41 features a 5000 mAh battery like the Itel P12. For a gamer or multimedia lover, this is a favorable battery bank and should take you several hours to days depending on the load on the battery. I’m not exactly excited about the non-removable battery. For people like me who brick or mod their devices regularly, a Mediatek phone with an inbuilt battery is one more wrinkle on the face.
RAM
Well, its another 1 GB RAM Android phone from Itel. Itel has received a lot criticism for the 1GB RAM ceiling on all their models. If you really wish to enjoy this phone then you need to keep the number of concurrently running tasks minimal else you’ll have to deal with overheating and low storage space issues.
ROM / Internal Storage
This model spots an 8 GB internal storage capacity. Would’ve been nice to see 16 GB (older Itel models have spotted that) in the face of low storage space errors which are becoming a headache.
Camera
This model features a 5.0 MP (Samsung 3H7) Primary / Back camera and a 2.0 MP (GC2365) Secondary / Front camera. This is a 3.0 MP reduction against the 8.0 MP back camera which its predecessor the P51 spots. Do not expect a superb picture quality here, should however suffice if you just want to take a nice picture.
Android version
I’m glad this rolled out with Android 7 (Nougat) which is one step below Android 8 (Oreo) which is currently the latest Android version. Am I expecting an OTA update from Nougat to Ore on the Itel A41? definitely not. Its one of my reservations on Itel and Tecno; #TeamInfinix 🙂 .
4G Voice Over LTE (VOLTE) support
This is one of the features that got me interested in this model. I might have considered earlier models like the Itel A21, Itel A41 & Itel A41 Plus but how would I have used 4G + WiFi extensively on a 2000 – 24000 mAh battery? The 5000 mAh battery + 4G (VOLTE) LTE support was my aha on this model.
OTG and Reverse charging support
Its good to see OTG support on this model; one less reason to constantly connect your phone to your PC when you wish to see Game of Thrones Season 7 (God bless Torrent sites) on your 40 inch TV. Concerning the Reverse charging support, my gadgets are always charged, I have an avalanche of power banks at my disposal and an Inverter Set so I’m always good power-wise; but, reverse charging could come in handy when I have to share power (when on an outing) with my Wife who always forgets to charge her phone 🙂 .
