Just when I was beginning to think Itel is done with Spreadtrum (after the Itel A51, Itel A12 and Itel A13), they pushed yet another Spreadtrum powered phone into the Market. The Itel P12 has pretty much the same specs as the Itel A12, just differs in dimension, front camera, OTG reverse charging support and battery (Itel seems to be focusing on that in their recent models). Their slogan is “5000mAh power for 3 days” at ‘normal’ usage but I highly doubt that. Anyways, lets take a look at what the Itel P12 packs.

My opinion of the Itel P12
The Itel P12’s selling point is obviously its 5000 mAh battery which is touted to keep you going for 3 days under ‘normal’ use. Normal is relative and I’m pretty certain 5000 mAh won’t last me a day; don’t know about you. Two other specs of interest are its OTG (reverse charging) support and Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). There’s already Android O but Android M is still OK. I don’t have high hopes about the 5.0 MP – 2.0 MP Rear and Front cameras as I’ve experienced the same combo (with Spreadtrum SC7731c) on my Itel IT1513 but that’s OK for a low range phone.

I would’ve liked to see Quick charge as that’s just the right accomplice for a big battery bank. I’m very disappointed in the 512 MB RAM on this one. Don’t expect to Facebook in peace. Maybe you can Whatsapp or Snapchat, Call or check E-mails in peace. Any reasonable form of gaming is totally off the table on this one. Unless you’re an average user or intend to use this phone for light tasks, expect a lot of low storage or RAM errors and overheating issues.
How much is the Itel P12 and where can I buy it?
As at the time of this post, the Itel P12 would go for roughly NGN 15,000 – NGN 22,000 depending on the source.

The problem is between the charger, Phone’s USB port and firmware. I think you should have the charging port checked first
The Phone is nice but the RAM is just too small
I was Using Techno W1 (1 GB RAM) before the screen got broken
