Cloud transfer services you really should try

Having accounts with multiple Cloud Storage Services (e.g Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive etc) is quite normal when you manage a lot of heavy files. There come those times when you need to move heavy files (I’m talking Gigabytes) from one Cloud Storage to another. Downloading then re-uploading is neither cost nor data effective…unless you have unlimited data and crazy internet speeds. If you’re on a limited budget or time conscious then you’ll find Cloud Transfer services very helpful. Here are a few I’ve personally used and think will equally come in handy for you.

Cloudsfer

Cloudsfer cloud transfer service

As at the time of this post, Cloudsfer supports:

  • 500px
  • Alibaba Cloud OSS
  • Amazon Cloud Drive
  • Amazon S3
  • Box
  • Dropbox
  • Facebook
  • Flickr
  • FTP&FTPS
  • Google Drive
  • Instagram
  • Mega
  • Microsoft Azure Blob Storage
  • OneDrive & OneDrive for Business
  • Picasa / Gogle Photos
  • SharePoint Online
  • WebDAV

Cloudsfer has a free and paid plans. Features of their free plan include:

  • Use all personal connectors
  • Run 1 migration at a time
  • 24/7 technical support
  • Complete migration report
  • Recurring Migration – 1st month for free!

Some other features I came across are:

  • Personalized migration

: Personalize your migration according to your needs.

  • Document migration

: Migrate your documents only. Upon completion, use the delta button to migrate new and modified documents.

  • Photo migration

: Migrate your photos only between cloud providers.

  • Scheduled migration

: Schedule your migration to run when it fits you best. Perform an automated or a one time scheduled migration.

  • Backup migration

: Backup your cloud storage, letting Cloudsfer manage and move newly created data.

  • Multi user migration

: Transfer multiple users, maintain permissions, security and metadata in a few quick steps.

  • Prem to cloud

: Transfer your on-premise data into the cloud provider of your choice.

My experience with Cloudsfer

I was really impressed with their free plan. I had to move 3 files (about 1.3GB per file) between Dropbox and Google drive. The process (on each file) was completed between 2 – 5 minutes. I also found their platform easy to use. One thing I found a bit off was having to authenticate (meaning I had to be logged into my account on respective Cloud Storage services) before each transfer. For other Cloud Transfer services I’d used, I only had to authenticate once per Cloud Storage services’s account. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Multcloud

Multcloud file transfer service

This service is quite popular and reliable. As at the time of this post, Multcloud supports:

  • Dropbox
  • Dropbox for Business
  • OneDrive
  • OneDrive for Business
  • Google Drive
  • WebDAV
  • SugarSync
  • FTP
  • Copy
  • Amazon
  • Cloudme
  • Cubby
  • Mydrive
  • WEB.DE
  • Yandex
  • Hidrive
  • Baidu
  • MediaFire
  • OwnCloud
  • Alfresco
  • ADrive
  • Flickr
  • HubiC
  • Mysql
  • Evernote
  • MEGA
  • Box
  • AmazonS3
  • Egnyte

Their free plan includes:

  • 2TB Data Traffic + Gift
  • 2 Threads to Transfer Files
  • General Servers
  • General Level Technical Support
  • 2 Way Sync Support
  • Unlimited number of cloud drives
  • File Transfer across Cloud Drives
  • File Sync across Cloud Drives
  • File Explorer for Multi-clouds

Some additional features I came across are:

  • Cloud Explorer: Lets you manage files in your linked Cloud Storage accounts from Multcloud
  • Cloud Sync: Sync two Cloud Storages

My experience with Multcloud

I found Multcloud very easy to use and reliable. They’re about the only one (I know) that supports Baidu. I liked the Cloud Explorer as I could remotely manage files. I also liked the fact that I could name and see my storage stats (used and free space) for various Cloud Storage accounts. What I found a bit off about Multcloud was the slow transfer speed on the free plan. According to their pricing page, the paid plan has a faster transfer speed.

Mover

Mover cloud tranfer

I discovered Mover when when they were in BETA. As at the time of this post, Mover supports:

  • Amazon WorkDocs
  • Amazon S3
  • Bitcasa (retired)
  • Box
  • Copy (retired)
  • Dropbox Business
  • Dropbox
  • Egnyte
  • FTP
  • Google Cloud
  • Google Drive for Work
  • Google Drive
  • Hightail
  • Mover Vault
  • MySQL
  • Office 365
  • OneDrive
  • OpenStack
  • Rackspace Cloud Files
  • SFTP
  • SharePoint
  • SmugMug
  • SugarSync
  • Ubuntu One (retired)
  • WebDAV
  • Yandex.Disk

My experience with Mover

File transfer on Mover was pretty fast. Their User Interface was really easy to get around. I was able to use the service for free in BETA. What I now find a bit off is that its now strictly paid. No free or trial accounts.

Otixo

otixo cloud management service

What brought Otixo under my radar was their support for 4Shared. That was like the missing piece of the puzzle for me. As of the time of this post, Otixo supports:

  • 4Shared
  • ADrive
  • Alfresco
  • Amazon
  • Amazon S3
  • Box
  • CloudMe
  • Cubby
  • DriveOnWeb
  • Dropbox
  • Evernote
  • Fabasoft
  • Facebook
  • FilesAnywhere
  • Flickr
  • GMX.DE
  • Google Drive
  • HiDrive
  • Huddle
  • LiveDrive
  • MEGA
  • Magenta
  • MyDrive
  • OneDrive
  • OneDrive for Business
  • Online FileFolder
  • OwnCloud
  • SugarSync
  • TrendMicro Safesync
  • WEB.DE
  • Yandex

Features of their free plan include:

  • Bandwidth usage
  • 2GB monthly
  • Easy data transfer
  • File and folder sharing
  • End-2-end encryption

My experience with Otixo

I found the Otixo interface pretty smooth and easy to get around. File transfers was simply Copy and Paste. The file transfer speed was also impressive. Moving a 1GB file from 4Shared to Google Drive took less than a minute. What I found a bit off was the 2GB monthly transfer limit; really small.

If you’ve had a good experience with any Cloud Transfer services which I haven’t mentioned here then I would love to hear about it.
